Nestroots , a Home Decor Brand gets funded in Season 2 SHARK TANK , India

Shark Tank India is a business reality show tend to uplift the budding entrepreneurs of India by providing them monetary loan through share holdings.Recently Season-2 of the show has been aired on Sony Entertainment Television. The show features the investors those are self made millionaires and successful in their own businesses. They are termed as “sharks” who listens the budding entrepreneurs who wish to pitch their business and ideas for its development, their stack in the market and accordingly they get investments.



Nestroots is one such home décor and lifestyle products brand. It is founded in 2016 by Ms. Chhavi at New Delhi India. Its tagline is “We do What we Love & We Love what we do”.

Nestroots is a dream project of its founder Chhavi, who is design graduate and having a experience of 10 years before initiating this brand. She worked at Arvind Ltd. in sales and operation for 5 years and in training & development for another 5 years. Her Father, Mother and Brother have successful business since longer period of time.






After 10 years of experience, she decided to take the leap, that leap was “NESTROOTS”.

Sales of Statistics of Nestroots:

Major sales contribution is from the furniture category which is about 55%. The average monthly sales is 1.1 cr. rupees after returns. The net sales excluding GST is Rs. 98 lakhs rupees. 25% of their sales is from their website and 75% is from the marketplaces. The gross margin is about 70-75% and the contribution margin (CM) is 10% on average. The company is making a profit and the net profitability is 16-19%. In FY 21-22 the net sales were 7.2 crore rupees and net profit was 14%. Projected sales for FY 22-23 are 16 crore rupees. The company is spending 5 to 6 lakhs among 1.1 cr. rupees for marketing. Chhavi and her father both are shareholders of the company. Chhavi has raised a debt of 35 lakhs rupees with debt and debt has been paid off. The Startup raised a fund of 35 lakhs rupees at a valuation of 4.5 crore rupees.




This brand is featured in episode 9 of Shark Tank India season-2, they asked for 50 lakhs rupees for 1% equity in return they get 50 lakh rupees for 2% equity from Shark Namita Thapar, who is CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.
